    AR pistol- problems running HELP!!

I just finished the build. Took it out today and had issues all day long.

    10.5" yhm 5.56 barrel
yhm 9383 low profile gas block
springco m4 carbine enhanced power srring- blue
    h2 heavy buffer
    PSA BCG

Used factory win. 55gr fmj ammo for test.

About every 3rd round would not chamber all the way. stayed out 3/4". Got stuck and had to rubber mallet back on the charging handle. had alot of stove pipes, and on the magpul mags would not lock back. Locked back on the usgi mags. Had times where it shot and cycled ok, but did not pick up and load the next round. That could be from old usgi mags that need rebuilding im thinking. Im new to the AR Pistol game and I need some help to get this thing running.

Put an adjustable gas block on, and regular carbine buffer in it. Tune your adjustable gas block, and you're good to go. I've never had a problem with an AR pistol using these parts. There's a video on YouTube on how to adjust your gas block.

I dont think an adj. block would help. I think I need more gas. I maybe wrong but I think I need to open it up not restrict it.

if the low pro gas block you have is restricting the gas, an adjustable gas block will work. If it is not the gas block, it may be the hole on the barrel thats bottle necking the gas pressure. While your troubleshooting it, I highly advise to do this mod on your BCG if yours does not have one that stiff extractor spring.

The BCM® Extractor Spring is a heavy coil design made for the increased extractor tension required on many AR15, M4, M16 short barreled rifles.

Make sure your gas block isn't crooked and cutting out your gas pressure. Saw someone have the same symptoms with a .300blk pistol.

Could be you don't have enough gas pressure for a heavy buffer and heavier spring? My carbine gas 11.25" has been running fine with a standard carbine buffer and spring, but needed a stronger extractor (BCM) to avoid failure to extract.

Most likely the gas system. Change the gas block to an adjustable one or make sure the current gas block and tube are clean and aligned properly.

Check the gas port for proper size and alignment.
Check extractor for weak spring or hook condition.
Change to a standard carbine buffer and spring. Go function fire it.

If that doesn't work try an adjustable gas block.
