Anyone know the release date? I'll be picking one up to see how it compares to my g42.

Glock said yesterday during their live events that the G43 will debut to the public at the NRA convention in Nashville on April 10, and then shipping to the major distributors on that following Monday, April 13. I have a feeling the major distributors will have them in stock on that Monday, April 13. But definitely not sooner than that.

That gives Glock a few more weeks to really ramp up production on the G43's to help satisfy the initial demand for them, and I'm sure they will be in high demand.


And since I just told you this, I'll be first in line with my ammo and would love to shoot it side by side with my 9mm Shield

I am a Glock owner, former Glock armorer (2002-2010) and also a Shield owner. While the Shield may in some guns, have issues with the guide rod, Glocks are not infallible by any means.
I am proof of that, as my LE duty weapon was one of the many Gen 3 guns that had their frames replaced because of Glock's no recall "recall".

I'm looking forward to buying a Glock 43. Sometimes, you don't need a lot of gun, just enough gun and one that's really easy to carry. I carry my Glock 19 plenty of times but it does come with a weight, width and length penalty.

I've found that with the Glock 42, it's a real big difference in comfort when carrying that gun with the drawback of it only being a .380. With the new 43, I can have nearly the same dimension easy to carry gun but with a bit more punch being it's a 9mm.

If I feel 6+1 rounds is too little, I can take my Glick 19 but for the times I just want an easy and comfortable to carry gun, then I think the Glock 43 will fit that requirement nicely so I'm glad Glock is finally coming out with a skinny single stack handgun in 9mm.

My LGS just sent me an email stating the blue label price should be $390 and they're expecting them "soon". They aren't having a pre-order, or waiting list, but will be updating their Facebook page when it's available.
