    User error reassembling P-09

So, I screwed up. I was reassembling my CZ P-09, pushing the slide back until the hold-open popped into place. Thing is, I absentmindedly pushed the slide way too far back, and now the slide is like this. I can push the slide back all the way, but for the life of me I can't get the hold-open popped back out or the slide into battery. How do I disassemble this thing?

That's the problem - I can't seem to push the slide lock out. It went in, obviously, so it should go out the same way, but I've been working on it for the past half hour or so and can't seem to find the right position.

it might need a good whack on the pin from the other side.

put some backward pressure on the slide and hit it with a soft mallet.

Ugh, so apparently I just needed to give my hands a rest so I could try every increment of slide movement. It's disassembled now and life is good.

If someone finds this in the future with the same problem, the correct position is so the end of the slide is roughly lined up with the "y" in "Kansas City".

          Thanks guys.

Hmmm, I will have to check this out. Never had a problem with my sp01 or p09. Glad things are better OP.

It looks like you did not inserted the slide release correctly. You pretty much missed the bottom of the barrel "hook area" (sorry don't know what is the right name of that area). As a result the barrel is "riding" with the slide instead of staying with the frame.

As bubbala said, remove the slide lock pin....
