    XDs, 9mm. Trigger upgrades?

I like my SSE, XDs but the trigger is horrible. Heavy, Gritty, long pull. Are there any upgrades for it that you all could recommend? Thanks for any input. c good

Are you going to be using this for CCW or for defense? It is generally a good idea to leave all stock parts on a defense weapon. From what i learned from my CCW classes, any modification will give room for DA to claim you modified the gun for killing. Give it a few hundred rounds, it will smooth out.

another CalGunner turned me on to this place to upgrade my XD9 sc trigger. Worth every penny.

They do have a trigger spring kit for the XDs but I have no experience with it.

      Good Luck!

Eventually I would like it for CCW, as that is the reason I bought it. But with the situation in San Diego, who knows how long it will take. In the meantime I'd like to upgrade it. I will hold onto all original parts to reinstall if/when I get my CCW. Thanks for the input so far. c good

And did your instructor happen to provide you with actual examples of court cases where someone was convicted because they did an action job on their gun?

If I have to defend my life and the lives of my family, I want the absolute best chance I can get to be successful at that. So anything I can do to improve the accuracy of my gun to help ensure that I a) hit my target and b) don't send rounds downrange and hit an innocent, I will do. And I will worry about the consequences of that later.

And personally, I believe any attorney worth a damn can easily defend this in court.

XD triggers do smooth out eventually. If you have any concerns over legal carrying just dry fire practice with it a LOT. That being said I put an Powder River EZ fit in my XD45. Simple install and have not looked back, makes a world of difference. Looks like they have a couple of trigger spring kits for the XDS, one listed above and one with a new sear.

If you are going to do a trigger job on any of the XD guns (XD, XDm and XDs) ger a PRP kit.

I have a PRP kit for my XDs. It definitely smooths out the trigger pull and lessens the weight.

Did it shorten the take up or reset and break?

                    PRP triggers are a must-have for XD's.
I've done them on my XD9 and XDM9. You won't be disappointed.

All of the above. Very clean, short reset, and less takeup than stock. I have 2 PRP ultimate match triggers on 2 XD's. My service 40 has a 3.5 lb trigger, my 9mm tac I went to 4 lbs which I prefer.

I put the Springer Precision sear and trigger parts in my XD tactical. Can be tuned up for a very nice trigger.

I have the powder river spring kit in mine. It's worth the $18. At first I left out the striker spring and wasn't happy with the trigger mod. I put in the new striker spring and it made a big difference

I have a PRP on my XDS45, love it.

The fate of the wounded rest in the hands of the ones who apply the first dressing.

I installed the PRP kit with sear on my XDS .45.

I left the OEM striker spring on it though, since I may use it for defense. The main difference you will notice is the trigger break. It doesn't have the nasty snap at the end which is hard (for me) to shoot good groups with.

Swapping the light striker spring will cut another 1lb+ from the pull, but I'm quite happy with the spring and sear kit plus OEM striker spring.

There's still a little bit of creep in the trigger, but it feels like it will break-in over time.
