Spanish Modelo B. 1911 lookalike in 9mm. $299 from J&G plus $20 for hand select. Very excited. How different are these to a 1911 in terms of field stripping for cleaning?

It's a Star Model; B, it breaks down just like a 1911. Here is a link to the owners manual from Steve's Pages:

I saw the price on J&G and considered buying one but it seemed a little sketchy to me purely because I have no idea what they consider good condition. Let us know how it is when you pick it up, or consider taking a few pictures! I might have to buy one...WTB Star Megastar in .45 (Starvel or Blue)Comment

If I recall correctly reading a while back, weren't they built interwar on colt machines. If I'm thinking of the same guns, they were licensed from colt by the Spanish monarchy before the civil war. Later models were built by Argentina I think. Systema colt or something like that.
And yes, very solid shooters. Thankfully we have a roster which keeps such dangerous guns off the streets.NRA Life Member since 1990
They're not liberals, they're leftists. Please don't use the former for the latter. Liberals are Locke, Jefferson, Burke, Hayek. Leftists are progressives, Prussian state-socialists, fascists. Liberals stand against the state and unequivocally support liberty. Leftists support state tyranny.
