    Beretta 92fs upgrade

Hi I recently purchased a beretta 92fs and wanted to do some upgrades. I have already decided to do away with the polymer parts and replace them with metal but I also want to make the trigger as smooth as possible. I have heard about upgrading the d spring which everyone says will help but I was also curious about upgrading other Springs to a reduced power but do not want problems with light hammer strikes. Any suggestions?

Definitely do the D-spring. Also, do a search on 92 trigger job. You can lightly polish the hammer and sear and also the trigger bar to help with the trigger.

So far, I've installed a Wilson Combat short reach trigger, and the DSpring on my 92G-SD, and it feels really nice. I tried a mild polish on the trigger components, but not sure it did much, as I was probably too mild.

I have an Elite II skeleton hammer on order, as well as a WC fluted guide rod, and will install when I get them. I'll definitely polish the hammer and sear when I do the install.

If you're interested, I have two brand new Dave Olhasso competition hammer springs. I thought it would fit something else, apparently it didn't. So pm me if you're interested.

I have the M9A1 and love it. I installed the D spring, houge grips, and replaced the guide rod to a steel fluted one from wilson combat.

                Beretta

I have not purchased the parts yet but all steel parts couldn't hurt.

The D spring is a solid upgrade. Probably the most important. It made the trigger on my M9 lighter than the trigger on my SP2022 and the SP2022 has a very light trigger for DA.

Everything else should be secondary to that. I'm contemplating getting some thinner grips but other than that, just worry about the D spring for now.

Here are some suggestions for your new Beretta:

The first thing i would do is either put in the d spring or get a lightened main spring from Wolff gun springs. I would also change the trigger return spring to the Wolff reduced power kit. It will significantly smooth your trigger pull and reduce the weight. If you like shorter triggers, the Wilson short reach trigger is a good upgrade. Add a steel guide rod if you don't like the plastic one, but that one isn't really necessary in my opinion.

The d spring is good enough, imo. I put one on my 92FS and it really lightened up the trigger. The SA trigger is about as light as I'd ever like it to be - Can't imagine why anyone would want it lighter. The DA trigger is just plain sweet after the d spring.

Another good upgrade is the oversized mag release. They are tough to find because they're frequently oos.

I've read mixed reviews about the Wolff trigger spring. Some people say it gives a gritty feeling to the trigger, others dont. It almost sounds like there may be some bad batches out there. Over on the Beretta forum, my impression is that most just stick to the original trigger apring.

The " D " lightened hammer spring and Wolff steel guide rod are the only two things I did when I had my M9.
