Learn me on EAA Tanfoglio pistols

So I see a couple for sale in the sale section. Decide to do a little research on them. Have I missed something? Do they shoot as awesome as they look? Do they have awful triggers? I am not new to guns and have shot a little bit of everything from everyone. I've owned hundreds of guns but have never seen handled or shot one of these pistols. They've got a long slide 45 that looks interesting and I've been planning on adding a glock 20 to the herd but they've got a beautiful 10 mm that that may have jumped to the front of the line. Any of you guys familiar with this manufacturer? Thanks.

"Fog" is a homophobic word? Cause it's TanFOGlio"

See. I know so little. The gunbroker.com listing I was looking at last had it as f a g. Not fog. I'll edit.

Haven't shot them; but for what its worth, a couple people I know with the CZ-copy really like them.

They are an Italian made copy of a cz. I own a Tanfoglio elite match witness and it has an amazing trigger. Has a larger magwell compared to the cz75. For the price, they were an awesome bargain (before sse ended).

I only have one model - the Witness Elite Match - and I like it a lot. It is a great shooter out of the box. It is modular, too. One can use the same frame for different slide assemblies and mags. If I am not mistaken, you can use the same frame for .45 ACP, 9mm, .40 S&W and 10mm.

If you want more info on this model, search in this forum and you will find plenty of threads about it, mostly from CZ owners.

Regarding the ones in the marketplace, I have read good things about them. Are they worth the asking prices? Only a buyer can decide. I believe all Tanfoglio semis are off roster so you, as a potential buyer, may need to factor that in.

              Good luck!

Very popular shooters and competition models in Europe. I also have the EAA/Tanfoglio Witness Elite Match 45 and it was an excellent bargain to me....at a little over $700 OTD for solid, match quality fitments. Nice SA trigger, don't see myself selling this one.

The Witness Stock II, Limited, and Gold lines also get great reviews on build quality and performance.

IMHO Tanfos are great if CZ-style metal guns are your thing. I've got an Elite Match and a (low-end) steel compact Witness and find them to be well-balanced, well-weighted, smooth shooters. Classy looks too. The downside is they come with just one mag and finding more has been a bit troublesome and expensive.

Google it. Too bad they are off roster and rare.

Witness Elite Match in 45. Best gun I own. Good luck finding one though, most people are not going to let theirs go.

I bought a Witness 9mm on the advice of the owner of my local shooting range who rented pistols and claimed it was the most reliable pistol there. My experience matched his.

I have a number of tanfoglios and I really like them. Best ergonomics for large hands anywhere. Good weight. Stylish! Great finish.

Yes, you have missed something. Tanfoglios are great guns, I like them better than my cz.

got me a witness elite match in 45, a steel witness in 10mm, a small frame in 9mm and bought my girlfriend the witness pavona. All amazing guns.

My cz75b doesn't get much love anymore. I'll bring it with me to the range, but it doesn't get shot much.

I love my Elite Match in .45. The grip is a little larger than my SP01 but shooting feels like shooting hot 9mm loads instead of .45.

The only real drawback is the low amount of aftermarket support and holster selection.
