I've actually seen a guy compete without optics on his open gun, its a bit disconcerting as he's still fairly quick and accurate..

Im not familiar with Middlebrooks methodology on shooting, but in terms of "point shooting", I use what I need to get the shot off faster.. If the distances are within my 'comfort zone', then I'll use a less than perfect sight picture.. I'll index off the frame, my hands or simply extend my arms and shoot.. at the same time, if i need my sights, they're available..

i recently took a defnesive pistol class that applied some contact distnace/point shooting skills.. its was very very eye opening..

yeah that guy is a pretty good shot.
I will say point shooting is something I think everyone should practice. In the last video the guy explains why point shooting is good. Considering most hand gun fights are defensive fights point shooting is all about speed.
Ive never tryed point shooitng more than 25 yards though.

Can anyone tell me what kind of gun he has? it looks like a CZ or something, or maybe a 1911... I cannot tell, anyone know?

The gun is an EAA witness?

Not sure what gun it was, but looks like a CZ clone. The slide stop protruding on the left side, with slide having a very small height makes me think that way.

edit: looks like EAA competition model.

Thanks i thought it was a EAA, a Witness Elite or Competition because they are the only ones with that kind of beaver tail, so exaggerated....

Just make sure you're using good reloads. Notice any recoil?
