I can't compare my P2000's against any Glock or other HK's. I can compare them to Beretta's (92&96) and Sigs. Both are fine pistols but I'll take the P2000 every time. A plus, for me, is the barrels tend to be slightly undersize so they shoot lead bullets beautifully.

      Out of those 3 I'll take VP9.

VP9 and P30 shoots about the same but to me, trigger on the VP9 is better.

Than I had a chance to shoot a P30 Light LEM trigger. Heard its great etc etc. But man that LONGGGGGGGGG (yes about that long) pre-travel is the deal breaker! Sig P320 has a way better DAO trigger thats better than HK light LEM on P30 by 1000 miles!

P2000 is snappy. The only thing I like about the P2000 is that it has a decocker(DA/SA version). Its great for you since you'll carry it!

Since you are LE, I did say try a P320, it wont let you down!
      Stuff I got for sale:
+++ Dan Wesson DWX, Glock 47 MOS, Walther PPK Stainless Steel, Canik Rival Dark Side, Canik Mete SF, FN 509 LS EDGE OR, Springfield SA35 Hi Power, HK VP Match OR, Beretta 92XI SAO, Beretta APX A1 and more

Not to be a smart a##, but all of the above models can use P30/VP9 magazines of the same caliber. The magazines that come with the P2000 and P2000SK are shorter, and less capacity; 13 and 10 rounds respectively. However, a P30/VP9 magazine will still fit both the P2000 models.

It will stick out, but you can buy grip extensions that go over the magazine body to cover what is exposed of the magazine.

Just like the Glock 17, 19, 26, etc all can share the same magazines. The USP Compact also can share the magazines with P30, VP9, and P2000 models. The full size USP uses magazines of its own.

Since you are LEO the fact that you can use P30/VP9 magazines in a P2000 or P2000SK for back up is a nice feature.
Nice! See, I didn't know that. Thanks for the info regarding the fact that the P2000 can actually use the P30/VP 9 models.

OK, thought we were talking about size regarding carry guns. My mistake.

OP, I would shoot all three and make your choice. My choice out of the three listed would be the G19 for carry but I think the VP9 is a better shooting gun, but everyone is different. For example, I hated the P320 when I was buying SSE guns but others love it. Good luck...

All are great choices . . . . BUT you mentioned off duty carry then the G19 would be the best option I would think.

I have a VP9 and IWB holster and it will tough not to print with that setup I would think.

              Good luck

As I've said before, when it comes to a concealment holster pistol, I will run with the P2000 in 9mm DA/SA---yeah, the DA trigger is somewhat heavy (not nearly as bad as some would have you think) but allows safe carry with a round in the chamber (no Glock "shoot yourself in the leg" as you try to holster your pistol). This was DESIGNED to be this way. The SA trigger is just fine with me.
The whole discussion about "high bore axis" is a non-issue to me---9mm pistols just don't have that much kick or muzzle rise---learn to hold your gun with your thumbs properly locked down instead of swinging in the breeze and you'll see what I mean…
Oh, and P2000s with accept P30, VP9, USPc magazines and the smaller P2000sk will take all of those mags as well...

I would go with the glock 19. You should be able to get a blue label glock 19 for $399 or $469 with nights sights. I know that you said price is not an option, but none of the HKs are worth the extra money that you will pay. There's many reasons why the glock 19 is one of the most popular guns on the planet.

Been a HUGE Glock loyalist for 20+ years, training and using the G23 for decades while also having a G19 amongst many many other and all types of pistols. The G19/23 Has always been my go to gun and after all these years there isnt a target I can't hit by simply pointing and shooting. Recently got a G19 Gen4, sent to Glockworx for the full on mods plus the amazing Trijicon HD Sights. Awesome gun and I love it. Now.....got a VP9 last year(love HK's with having several already) but never considered a striker fired HK considering my love and success with Glocks, but had to have one anyways. It is now my favorite pistol to shoot for all the reasons many have posted about. Needs nothing, no mods, nothing. Buy it, load it, shoot it and fall in love. I want another on baaaad.

Agreed as a VP9 and P30L owner who has shot a P2000 extensively as well. The light LEM offered on the P30 (and HK45) might be a great duty trigger when the adrenaline is overloading your fine motor skills but man does it suck at the range. The VP9 has a sweet, crisp break for a striker fired pistol on the other hand. Both the VP9 and P30 feel great in the hand to me, with my P30L feeling slightly better (and better than anything else that I've ever picked up). Plus, HK wins the finish award in the service pistol category for me - gorgeous and durable. Finally, there are these data points attesting to the durability of HK pistols overall:
