    Sig P220 Variant/Value

    Hi,I have a sig 220
one side of the slide has P220 and "made in germany"
other side says SigSauer and 'exeter nh'
I dont see any roll marks or anything, serial number is G 301,xxx dates it to 1999
trying to figure out a ballpark value on it
it is well used, not a safe queen
was it all germany, or only the slide? and assembled here (NH)?

Sounds like a regular P220 to me. Are you sure the serial number is a 6 and not G? P220 serial numbers with German made frames start with G. The first couple of numbers in the serial number will really narrow it down as far as age (like G453XXX or something like that). Does it have a rail?

As far as value goes, I'd say $500-600 most likely.

G3XXXXX series were as early as 1999 and as late as 2008. You most likely have a US assembled P220 with a German frame. It can either have the one piece stainless steel or the 2 piece "folded" carbon steel slide.

You have a keeper. They are very sought after.

Wow, a 10 year manufacture range
Should I trade it for a glock, been offered as I don't shoot it much
Just don't want it to be 'that one gun I regret letting go'
          Oh, one piece slide

KEEP IT. Non rail Sig's are no longer being made and will become more valuable as the years go by. The guy with the Glock is trying to take you for a ride...

                Sig P220 Variant/Value

Does that mean the initial value of 5-600 above, should be revised, since a glock is generally 5-600 (used/new)
And, thank you to all for your input

As far as I can remember the only sought after P220's are the True Stainless versions and any version with a real beavertail.

another question, should I cerakote it, just for protection, not color

no. leave original finish on your P220.

Keep this gun as is, and do not refinish it. You have a really nice German made, german assembly P220 with the stamped slide and removable breech block. I would keep it, the German SIGs are fantastic. Honestly, I'd pay about $650 for the condition its in.
