    Springfield XD sight options

Just picked up my new XD's today, a subcompact in 40, and 9mm Tactical

i plan to put some TFOs in them.... unless there's a better option? 9mm Tactical will be the nightstand gun, 40sc evetually a carry.

Here's the kicker - I'd like to re-sight them for combat picture. possible?

lastly i have read they are pretty difficult to install at home.... anyone have experience?

everyone has their particular style sight they like.. TFO's seem to be a popular pick..

As for installation- that's the easy part. It's the removal that's a bear. I had to take a dremel and cut my sight in half to knock it out. YMMV, but I still hear how difficult they are to remove.

If you do not mind shipping out, talk with James: http://www.shop.xd-hs2000.com/Sight-...ghtInstall.htm.

Sight pusher are a must, as a punch will more than likely mar your sights out or in.

that's actually a half-decent deal, especially buying the sights directly from him.

Only question left is if I can get it sighted for combat picture....

Sad thing is I shoot my XDs combat perfectly. I only recently found out it was 6 o'clock lol.

A sight pusher is a must for playing with the sights on the XD's.

I bought a Fisher sight tool specifically for my XD's. It uses a 3/4"(19mm) wrench and even with that much leverage its tough go. The the sight tool must be clamped in a vise because your not defeating the power of that wrench with your hands!

+1 for James, he does great work. I've used him 4-5 times for my Springers. Big fan of Trijicon HD's.

              Tip...
If you're thinking that Sig sights are cross compatible know that you'll need the Sig #10 rear with the #8 front to replicate the factory XD sight picture/POI.

A buddy of mine use liquid nitrogen to freeze the sight, and then shatters it.

I have the XD sight pusher, and it has done zero good on the factory sights of three of my four XDs. Works great once I get the factory sights off, though!

I'm actually wanting the reverse... I would want all my XD's to have combat picture like SIGs or Colts

Trijicon SP01. Love it on my XD45. Will be putting them on my XDs and my wife's XDm 9.

You can send to Springfield Custom. Cost is reasonable. Especially if getting other work done because then the shipping is combined. Those sights and a combat carry trigger job make the gun badass.
