    Question about m&p shield .40

Hi, guys i was thinking about selling my off roster shield .40. I was just wondering what the going price is for these guns now so I could get a general idea about a fair price. Thanks for any help.

Blue book value shows $325 for one in 98% condition. For California, maybe $375?

500,go to the classifieds and see what off roster guns go for. Fair is relative. If they missed the bus, that's not your fault.

I sold my off roster .40 Shield NIB for $450 a couple weeks ago. All I wanted was to get my money back for it and ended up getting a ton of interest right off the bat, easy sell.

I would start at the high end of the price spectrum. It is something that people can no longer get here in California. That means it commands a premium. In any other state, it might only be worth $325. But here, where there is a very limited supply? Nope. It is worth significantly more.

A .40 Shield on the CA roster, low round count and complete materials should go at right around $350-375. If it's off roster it depends if it has a safety or not. I believe the ones without the safety are more scarce here in Cali and thus would command a higher price, perhaps 425-475. The catch is that the type buyer who wants a safety-less .40 Shield is also scarce, so it's not only a question of how much but also how long will it take for the right buyer to come along. Not easy to find but that type of user will pay premium.

If it is off-roster with a Safety then figure somewhere in between and it should sell a bit faster.

              Just my $0.02, good luck.

In the handguns marketplace here on Calguns, off-roster Shields are listed for between $500-$600. What they actually sell for is sometimes different, but $500 seems about right.

What? To their hand? The .40 Shield is not that comfortable to shoot. Going with something listed as +P ammunition is going to make that experience even more unpleasant.

What? The Shield is one of the most comfortable subcompacts out there!

+1, totally agree, the 40 shield has some snap to it with regular ammo.
