Compact 9mm suggestions

Looking for a compact 9mm. My wife prefers DA/SA 9mm autos and wants one for HD in CA and purse carry in AZ. I have not been extremely impressed, personally not the wife, with the look or ergonomics of the usual suspects; XD, M&P, USPc, Glock 26/19, and Kahr PM909. I have shot all but the Kahr, any would make an excellent choice but I want to go another direction.

I have recently looked at SA 1911 EMP, Para litehawg, and CZ 2075 RAMI. I have to say that I was leaning CZ before I saw the price difference. Anyone have experience or suggestions regarding these three? Thanks!!

Give the HK P2000 v3 9mm a try. It might just fit the bill.

Also, the older Walther P99. Lastly, the stamped slide SIG P228/P225

I have several compact 9mm guns, including the Glock 19 and the Kahr MK9, but my favorite is probably the Sig P239. This is a single stack, 8+1 capacity 9mm that weighs about 27.5 ounces empty with an aluminum frame, and has a very trim, streamlined appearance. It is large enough to be a good range or home defense gun, and small enough to conceal easily. I bought mine slightly used for $575.

Thanks for the suggestions. P-99 is a bit to large but I have considered looking at the P2000 v3. As for the P239 I have a police return P-6 that I'm getting soon and several other Sigs, I want a safety on this one.

I have done some research independently and I think I will go for the RAMI unless someone talks me out of it. 66 posts and 2 replies doesn't seem as if anyone's interested tho...

Oddly enough, I don't see too much discussion on the RAMI. That's probably the reason to the limited reply, however I doubt you could go wrong with one.

The P99 and P2000 is actually quite similar in size. Both offer a subcompact version which will mirror closer to the size of the CZ RAMI. Between the P99 and the P2000, I think I actually prefer the trigger on the P99. HK is known to have a long, heavy DA trigger, the P99 is significantly smoother by comparison. Both decockers are well placed away from getting accidentally activated. Also, the P99 trigger has a very short reset that'll rival the 1911 platform. However, all said and done, I prefer shooting the P2000. Go figure..

Was there a purchase price cap? You should at least look at an Hk p7m8 which is sort of in a category by itself...not too big, not too small, full 4.1 inch bbl so no compromise in ballistics.

As much of a cap as the Mrs. will allow. She does like the P7 models and they certainly retain value however it may be tough to swing. I am more looking for a shooter than something I would question shooting repeatedly, have enough of those already. That being said I love those pistols and may try to see how that discussion goes...

I bet. It looks beautiful too. I need to handle it first but at twice the priceof the CZ I'm not sure if I could bring myself to spend that kind of dough now. Thanks for the tip I need to get my hands on the EMP.
