    XD 45 Compact

    Hi guys,

I have been looking into purchasing a polymer pistol in .45 acp. I have it narrowed down to two. Glock 30sf and xd 45 compact. I tried the M&P 45 but even with the smallest back strap it was just too much for me. I'm trying to stay in the size of my glock 19s, which is why im looking at the two choices I have.

My issue with the glock was the finger grooves didn't line up for me and that the magazine has to have the extension base pad. I hate having my pinky dangling, so I would have use base pad always, and I hate having to extend the pinky to reload.

Which led me to the xd compact 45. I haven't seen any locally and was going to have to order.

I have googled and youtubed but cannot find pics with someone having all three fingers on the grip (middle, ring, pinky) So I can't tell if it's really a compact in the G19 realm or a subcompact G26 or a mix like the 30.

Any pics you can provide would be appreciated. Thanks.

Aren't they the same exact thing when the mag w/ grip extension is in? I'm looking at XD-45's, and just wanted to know if there was any difference. Also, what is everyones opinion on the look of the flat dark earth model?

See link above. If you are looking for a polymer compact .45, an HK USP .45c or HK45c are terrific. They are around the size of a Glock 19.

You might be able to find a used HK USP .45c at a decent price in the marketplace forum.

Anyway, good luck with whatever you decide to go with.

          Another pic XD45C to G30, http://www.xdtalk.com/posts/1151953/

It's a nudge bigger then the G30/G19 and a few ounces more then the G30.

The G30 can run 9 round magazine, so that is something the XD45C can not do. So the G30 wins in the more compactness criteria.

The XDM-45 3.8 and XD-Mod2-45 3.3, both runs 9 round magazine, but of course off roster...FN California.

Did you buy the XD 45 compact ? I just did and took it out yesterday . 120rds no problem . 100 Win white box and 20 of my reloads . I went with the XD for many of the same reasons , Price , Glock finger grooves don't fit and I have a XD9 that has been the most reliable semi auto firearm I've ever owned .

If you are still looking for more info I'll be glad to send you or post pics comparing the 2 XD's I have as well as to other firearms like 1911 , M&P shield .

The G30 can run 9 round magazine, so that is something the XD45C can not do. So the G30 wins in the more compactness criteria.
FWIW the XD 45 compact holds 10rds
