    shield trigger reset.

I have searched and haven't found an exact answer. I want a more crisp break and even more so reset on my shield 40. I really don't want to mess with the rear sight as I have just gotten my big dots zeroed. Would ordering the apex kit and only installing the frame parts accomplish my goal? I could even polish the striker block without removing it. Thank you for any useful input

If you only install half the kit you will only get half the benefit. It will help with your reset, but your trigger will still have creep and won't be as clean. If you take the time and do it right you'll wind up with a great carry gun.

I agree. Either leave it stock, or put the whole Apex kit in. I really does make a difference.

Throw some more rounds down range. My trigger sucked until 500 rounds or so.

All you need is the Apex hard sear, which takes less than 5 minutes to swap in. The other parts in the kit add small improvements, but the hard sear is responsible for over 75% of the difference in trigger pull IMO.

Not so in my experience. I installed just the hard sear in my Shield 9 and all it did was lower the pull weight a couple of lbs by feel. The mile of take-up is still there and it's still very snatchy/grabby. I did the Apex FSS/Polymer Trigger in my full-size M&P and it totally transformed it. Short, smooth take-up, crisp 4lb break, short but inaudible reset. Going to get the similar kit Apex makes for the Shield & shoot it with a smile instead of a frown.
