Ive had it on my Taran Tactical, and on a custom coffee press, and see no difference in performance.
Salient does their shotguns the same.
Dont' see the need, but honestly like the flashiness and the crowd it draws, so to me worth it.
Like a crow, Im attracted to shiny objects.
Just some stuff I googled for you..

my understanding is that it is thinner, lasts longer and has a higher lubricity than NibComment

My opinion:
It adds some lubricity and reduces wear. That is what the machining tool makers claim. Cutting tools coated in TiN last longer in most applications when machining steel and aluminum.
It will probably make any gun part it is applied to wear less than if it wasn't applied.
Glocks (and maybe XD guns) already has something similar (melonite?), and it isn't really needed unless you specifically want the gold color, or have money to throw away.
I do not know if it reduces friction in the bore of the barrel. The military is still chrome plating their barrels, so I figure chrome is better, or cheaper for military guns. I think chrome plating is thicker than TiN coatings.Be sure to ask your doctor if depression, rectal bleeding, and suicide are right for you.
In the United States a person's expertise on a subject is inversely proportional to their knowledge of the subject: The less they know about something, the more they become an expert on it.
