Couldn't find anything on this topic, thus, figure I should share my experience.
When I was shopping for a P09, the shop had both the 40 and 9mm version. Guys at the shop was super cool and let me swap the internals ie, barrel, to see how they will fit.. Well, they fitted just fine.. So 10 days later I had a 40 P09 to play with.
Got the spare 9mm barrel and recoil spring from CZ, installed in the 40 P09, then the function test. Duh! Rounds will jam up at loading, the 40 mags will not function with the 9mm barrel.
Fast forward to today, got the new 10 round P09 9mm mags, took it to the range... And it functioned flawlessly. Popping away 9mm in my 40SW P09. Gone tho about 300 rounds without a single jam.
I was a bit concern about the extractor as it is dimensioned for the 40 rim, and would miss extract when cycle by hand. But with recoil, it was not an issue in the end..
