Good Day Shooters, I have been kicking around the idea of mounting a light rail on my Springfield. I have thought to try my hand on using a Picitinny rail and drilling Tap and Die, But I would need to practice quite a bit before the final try. or order one of these adapters that slide on and are pined or set screwed. Have any of you had luck trying something along these lines, Thanks

"Gawd, asks a qustion, gets two good answers, denies/ still doesn't get it.
This is the kinda person that shouldn't be building things- go store bought.

If you need/want a rail, I'd suggest the Dawson one. Drill & tap the frame and mount the rail, simple enough if you have some machinist skills, and good quality.
ETA: I hadn't seen the Novak one, looks fairly similar and Novak's other products are good quality.Comment

Dawson's are the heat.
Also, they work with stock holsters, u dont need any special thicker and fatter holsters to accomdate the light rail. For Sale!!
