    HK45 barrel

Let's say for the sake of the conversation that I needed an HK45 barrel. Anyone know where to get such an animal?

Yeah, the threads are the issue Bob. I already have one of those but I lost it.

As far as I know, it's not illegal to possess the threaded barrel. It's just illegal to install it.

I would think a smith could take the threads off for you if you "find" the barrel.

You could also probably get away with grinding them off or something of that sort?

If you are looking for an OEM barrel: I posted WTB ads on CalGuns and HKPRO and found a guy that wanted to sell his standard barrel to fund the purchase of a threaded barrel in a free state. HKParts will be the one to get it from commercially when they become available. When I asked them when they would have more, they told me that they get them from time to time but did not expect to get any for a couple months (this was in December). I signed up for an email alert for when they became available back then but still have not received a response. I'd go the WTB ad route and sign up at HKparts and wait it out.

I purchased a barrel from HK in 2007. If I recall correctly, it was almost a full year before they had stock and we're able to ship. I wasn't charged until the barrel shipped. Things may be better today. Around this time I ordered a barrel from Jarvis. It took about 2 months to ship, but excellent quality, and flawless performance.
