    when does SB199 start?

i have a classic army armalite M4, green gas glock 18 and mac 10. have not fired them off in years. there is no way i am going to paint some plastic and metal to comply with a law thought up by a progressive nanny state idiot so i want to sell off my dangerous assault bb guns. let someone else deface them to comply with nanny state logic. how long do i have to sell them before they become illegal because they are not painted safe and sane colors?

    Here you go

This bill would, commencing January 1, 2016, delete the 6 millimeter restriction from the definition of a BB device. By including a device that expels a BB or pellet that exceeds 6 millimeters in caliber within the definition of a BB device, this bill would expand the scope of existing crimes, and impose a state-mandated local pro

While SB199 is typical DeLeon douchebaggery, it isn't that bad.

        A. You need a blaze orange band on the flash hider/barrel. That is a federal law, and not a change. Many airsoft players replace or overpaint the flash hider. This is, and always has been, illegal. Easy fix: electrical tape. Hides the orange at airsoft games, but is easy to strip off if LE shows up.

        2. Fluorescent trigger guard. While also more DeLeon douchebaggery, not really a big deal. Usually, most of the trigger guard is covered by your fingers. If you get killed at an airsoft game because someone sees your colorful trigger guard, you kind of deserved to get shot anyway.

        3. 2cm fluorescent adhesive band on handgrip. Going to be covered by your hand.

I'm trying to be positive and sh*t here. Never will I defend anything that complete douche DeLeon comes up with.

As I recall, 2016 is the effective date.

Which Federal law makes this illegal?

This is the only Federal law I am aware of, and not having an orange tip is illegal for the actions highlighted below.
Note that ownership is not one of the actions listed.

              Sec. 1150.2 Prohibitions.
No person shall manufacture, enter into commerce, ship, transport, or receive any toy, look-alike, or imitation firearm (``device'') covered by this part as set forth in Sec. 1150.1 of this part unless such device contains, or has affixed to it, one of the markings set forth in Sec. 1150.3 of this part, or unless this prohibition has been waived by Sec. 1150.4 of this part.
              [54 FR 19358, May 5, 1989]
              Sec. 1150.3 Approved markings.
The following markings are approved by the Secretary of Commerce:
              (a) A blaze orange (Federal Standard 595a, February, 1987, color number 12199, issued by the General Services Administration) or orange color brighter than that specified by the federal standard color number, solid plug permanently affixed to the muzzle end of the barrel as an integral part of the entire device and recessed no more than 6 millimeters from the muzzle end of the barrel.
