When the law goes into effect: will it be possible for all previously owned airsoft guns that are 6mm and 8mm to become legal by the owner painting the trigger guard a fluorescent color (as well as applying the correct colored tape that is exactly 2 CM wide in the appropriate areas)?

In other words are airsoft guns purchased now (few meet the requirements) going to become permanently illegal in '16, or are they going to be easily made legal with some paint and tape correctly applied?

To be safe, all airsoft guns after 12/31/15 should have a colored trigger guard and magazine OR grip 2 centimeters.

However, there are some provisions subject to interrpretations.

Can the owner paint the guard himself (and apply the tape of course in appropriate places) and thereby transform an illegal gun to a legal one?
