I just ordered a charging arm for the diana. It was recommended by airgun guru.

The 48 is fun, when you get used to the cocking effort and its loud crack. I shot mine extensively back in the 90's when I got back from Europe. I had an old BSA underlever that I took off the hands of an old Punjabi up in one of the local gun shop in Himache Pradesh. Traveled around with it for 5 months roaming around in N India and then brought it back to Amsterdam with me. I missed the light handling of the ole BSA and got my hands on the 48 w its 1100 fps back when that number really meant something. We are talking about solid lead pellets, not some super alloy lightweight pells now a days.
The 48 has very solid performance and makes a good work out, consistently doing dime size groups at 15-20 M easily.
I would shoot it from the front of my garage to the cinder block walls in the back of the compound early mornings just before breakfast. (being part of the HOA and having understanding, cool neighbors really helps!)
It really gives off a sharp report and when I missed my quarter taped on the wall, it would leave a nice dent on the cement cinder blocks, SO DEFINITELY SMALL GAME MATERIAL if needed be.
      GLWS.
