    Airsoft for Christmas gift

My kid has the airsoft bug. FWIW those pellets hurt! Took him to check out an airsoft park 2 weeks ago and he is all into it. Went to Big 5 and got him their SCAR electric. It works but it?s very plastic-ey I got him on the course sunday (It?s great to get him off the GD computer and out running around) his gun worked OK but it?s really not up to snuff with the equipment others are using. The older kid rented a gun and it sucked so bad that he never wants to play airsoft again.

She?ll, Christmas is coming and I have a theory that Santa clause is there to allow parents to go overboard on their children without the kids knowing it was them who did it. The kid is 13, he?s figured it out

The guys at the rental booth advised to get an AR platform so he could swap mags with his buddies but I didn?t see any of that happening

Here is what I?m looking at getting him? OK, it?s what I want LOL. All he?s said is that he wants a SMG but this one is bad *** as far as I can tell.

Krytac makes good stuff and he should be able to compete with most guns on the field. If he plays outdoor I would get the 400 fps because it will give him more range. I would run a .28 bb or even a .30 because it will fly straighter. All of the other gear really dont matter quality wise the gun is the most important. I would recommend getting a setup for yourself I have a blast playing with my kid and he his 22 now and we still get out and play.

Also if you really want to go high end check out umbrella armory I have 3 of there upgraded guns and they are game changing but not cheap. If he really gets into it it is worth it. If you have any other questions let me know I can hopefully save you money on what not to buy haha.
    Keep Smiling!!!!

      have you considered used?

I picked up one new and a few used...

I would let them play for 6 months - 1 year and really figure out what they want or if they will keep playing
Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT
      (thanks to Jeff Cooper)

I would suggest going to one of the larger airsoft stores. I went to an Evike outpost here in Ontario. They let me try all sorts of the different riles and other guns. Your kid can also hold the different rifles and see what works for him.

I started playing last year and have played 4-5 times both indoors and out. I am looking into getting a rifle for outdoors go to along with a pistol and rifle for indoors.

I also have watched a couple of dozen airsoft videos on Youtube about various options but going to a store really helped me out.

I got him an indoor/outdoor rifle with quick change spring. It takes about 5 min to change the spring from outdoor FPS to indoor FPS
