I have heard that the RR’s are flawless as long as you never take it out of the packaging and only admire it from a distance. Actual handling, working the action, and attempting to load and shoot it seems reckless and perhaps abusive.

I still have mine from around 1991 or so. Was some model with the medallion in the stock. I killed my first million critters with it, and still shoot it in the back yard at rats running on the power lines. It’s been a life long source of entertainment for this simple guy
Lord, make my hand fast and accurate.
Let my aim be true and my hand faster
than those who would seek to destroy me.
Grant me victory over my foes and those who wish to do harm to me and mine.
Let not my last thought be 'If I only had my gun."
And Lord, if today is truly the day you call me home, let me die in an empty pile of brass.

I bought a Daisy Buck for $18 +tax from Walmart in 2016, it surprised me how good it was, plastic parts but plenty accurate enough for close range plinking.. it isn't a HW30 , but it isn't $350

The Dasiy bb gun I had as a kid lasted a long time and I shot it a lot, my second to youngest nephew broke it 30 or so years later. Have a newer Red Ryder now I got for shooting varmints I don't want to kill and just scare off. It works fine, but not as powerful as my old Daisy was.

He's already shot much bigger but a bb or pellet gun is better around the campsite, generally.

4 small pictures at the bottom.

Man walks into gunstore with son.
Daughter walks into another store with Mother.
Man and son try their guns at the counter.
And walk out with two wrapped packages.

Is the Daisy Model Buck 105 any better? It is listed with the shortest LOP. Need something youth sized for my 5 year old.

The Daisy Youth BB Buck Model 105 is sized for the smallest-framed shooter. At just 29.8 inches in length. Lever Action .177 caliber BB gun.
