    Scope for a Blue Streak?

I have a Blue Streak I bought new circa 1970. It has a Sheridan scope mount and a cheapo/econo about 3/4 diameter scope on it with horrid optics. I am going to replace it but want to be sure to do it right. I remember reading somewhere that air rifle scopes where special because of spring recoil. Do I need to worry about this with my pump up Sheridan or can I use a regular rifle scope? Maybe smacking with the pumping is no bueno? Thanks in advance for your advice.

I would shoot it with irons, the scope mounts can cause the solder on the barrel to seperate.

Unfortunately (or fortunately considering the alternative) I turned 70 last May. I am afraid my days of precision shooting without a scope have passed.

Loom into the nikon pistol scopes, a 2x or 4x fixed mounted in the scout position might work well.

The MAC-1 folks make a custom scope mount for the Sheridan, might give you a better placement.

I just found a scope mount for a benjamin/sheridan in my parts, i will never use it, op pm me if you want it. It is the type that clamps on the barrel.

              +1 for Mac-1

              they rebuilt my Sheridan

Cousins had the barrel solder failing... they soldered the barrel correctly and rebuilt the seals too

You can see how it sits, not yet mounted.

Thanks for that, looks nice. But as I said, I already have the Sheriden mount on the gun so I think I will just swap out the scope. Thanks again. THB

                      Happened to mine.

Williams makes peep sights for the Sheridan.
