    Pellet pistol

Thinking about a 177 cal, break barrel pistol,

I do not want a pcp or bb type

Mostly for shooting at paper at the range, 10 to 25 yards.

With accuracy being the big thing I want.

    I have a budget of 400, tops.

Any recommendations of what and where I should look,

A used one will work but I am in northern calif, I do not want to get involved in shipping,

    Thanks

Beeman P17 is an outstanding target pistol on the cheap. ($40). Break open pneumatic (not spring or gas piston). Unbelievably accurate and easy to shoot

          Gate,

Break barrel (spring air) pistols can be accurate. They can also be challenging to shoot well.

I browsed Pyramyd Air based on your description: https://www.pyramydair.com/s/m/Beeman_P1_Air_Pistol/555

I own this Weihrauch made spring pistol. It is fun, with two power levels. However, it takes dedication to shoot well, due to the jumpy "recoil". The latter makes it feel a bit like shooting a .22 rimfire pistol - as in lively; rather than an inert pop. Nothing harsh about it. The cocking and loading are different from break barrel air rifles. Not bad, and I have my way of doing it that might be useful to you: I use my left thumb to push up under the rear sight, inside the "slide".

For cheap accuracy, the Beeman P17 is a good choice. Everyone should have at least on of these, anyway :

The P17 is a single stroke pneumatic. Hence as easy to shoot as a PCP, without the need for a pump. However, it is low powered, if you ever wanted to puncture more than paper. Also, the single pumping stroke is ergonomically less friendly than the spring air pistols, despite the rated peak forces involved.

The P17 is selling on amazon for $32 right now: https://www.amazon.com/Beeman-Sports.../dp/B000W30UAA

Now for ones meeting your spec, that I don't own; but that have a good user rating on PA:

          Low power - similar to P17: https://www.pyramydair.com/s/m/Brown...ir_Pistol/2745

Do any of these have an expected MOA rating?

What types of groups can the pellet gun deliver?
Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT

The cheapest one, the P17 can shoot half inch groups or smaller at 10 meters, with the right pellets. The others can match that, but are more fussy about your grip consistency because the piston inertia starts to move the pistol before the pellet leaves the barrel.
