Any suggestions for optics for a Gamo Whisper Cat 177? Break Barrel with 1300 FPS. looking for 10-50 yards. Something that can take the abuse from the break barrel. Thanks for any help.

Nikon Prostaff Target EFR 3-9x40 AO Matte w/ Precision Reticle. Specifically designed for air rifle application. Super clear glass, adjustable objective, and for under $200 w/ free shipping on Amazon Prime, its a great scope. I used one on my RWS model 34

I believe that all of the Hawke scopes are air gun rated too.

Here's a link to a you tube by Joe Rhea from the Yellow Forum (Air Gun Forum). The video link is in the first post by Rhea. 'Top 10 air gun scopes for $100.

Hey, all I can tell ya is that he claims he has bought each scope that he does an in depth analysis on. If ya follow the Yellow, it might make more sense....mebbe not.

I've been pleased with the UTG 3-9x32 bug buster. I have it on my .177 Gamo Silent Cat.

ElemenOhpee, what rings did you use? Does it stay on Zero?

These are the stock Gamo rings. The scope also comes with a beefy set of rings too. Yes it stays on zero as long as I'm not banging it around. For $75 on amazon, it's a bargain...

I second this opinion. I have the same one on my Crosman Vantage NP in .22 and it is great. I used the rings it shipped with and it works great so far. Got about 100 pellets through and it holds zero just fine.

This Nikon scope is nice. I have one on my Savage 22 bolt gun. Been wanting to get another for my RWS Model 48.

I suppose if you do not want to spend a lot on a scope, the Bug Buster will work. I have a UTG 3-9X32 1" Full Size Front AO Mil-dot Scope on it now, not really impressed with it, but it will do the job until I can upgrade to the Nikon.
