    Sheridan c series

I have have had this from 1979, sent it off for a rebuild to dgs in sac.
Was my go to squirrel getter.

While at the shop it met with some form of disaster, stock broken,The solder joint on barrel\air tube broke he fixed it, replaced the stock.
    Won't hit the barn.
So now the scope mount(sheridan) broke the solder joint again...
Once I resolder the barrel, anyone have another type of scope mount that will not snap the barrel off the air tube?

Don is an Airgun moron, doesn't surprise me he ruined your gun. Should have sent it to mac1 airguns, they may have a mount that works for you. Sorry that happened.

Tim has got a a mount called the IA mount: http://www.mac1airgunshop.com/mobile....aspx?id=37829
Baker airguns has the BE: https://www.bakerairguns.com/product...92-air-rifles/
Pyramyd air has one made by air Venturi: https://www.pyramydair.com/s/a/Air_V...mp_Rifles/2015
There are also the cheap 272 mounts. Don't get them.
I guess you have an old scope mount made by either Benji or Sheridan? There are a style you shouldn't use because the screws you use to tighten the mount goes right into the solder joint. They stopped making that design with ones that tighten on the barrel more. But even this may cause separation if you tighten them too much. This along with over pumping, above 8, causes additional stress on the joint area. I have all the listed mounts and several of the vintage and have never had it cause separation. I have bought and fixed many that have had separation. The most of them have been caused by the original rear sights that have the 2 wedges being driven into the joint. I always remove those sights and relieve clamping pressure during rebuilds.

          Thank you sir.
I have a sheridan scope mount, until the seals went out on this , it has never had a problem...
Actually the scope has been on this for a decade or more,

Gunna go look the links up, sent this to mac1 for a resolder as I cannot get the seals out to resolder it myself.

          thanks Don.

I pulled it apart and stripped the rattlecan paint he used to resolder the joint (could be joking here maybe) never using his services again.

Tim has it on the bench, putting his hot rod tune on it.
Great guy we had a long chat, cannot wait to get it back in service.

            Thanx for the referral guys.

              Thanx...
              Small correction first.

Don is from dgs guns in sac. THE IDIOT that trashed my weapon.

              My name is carl.
Looks like a nice setup of airguns.

After hearing about the sights causing barrel seperation,
I took the factory scope mount that has been on this rifle for 20 years, and milled the bottom edge off so it would not contact the air tube.
Pulled the rear iron off as I cannot use it nowadays.
I wanted to put one of mac1's bases on this but, after having to rebuild it 2 times(thanks dgs) by now I could have bought a 22.
Tim sounds like he has it firmley under control...
Don does a fair song and dance.
I'm gunna give him a call after its done.
It is a plain shame crossman has killed these off and put some "edit" chinese junk out instead.
The 1077 given to me n.i.b. is useless .
I should have spent the rebuild money on a new weapon I guess but I have used this since I think 1978.

                Thanx,

It will go right back into its rack for service once its resighted in.

No buyers remorse, Just dgs remorse, honestly I have spent over the sum required for a new one not made in the usa.
But having spent that sum of money and NOT supported a company ramming offshore crap down my throat is priceless..(the fact dgs broke my stock AND solder joint stings).. I thank cgn for the support in finding Mac1.
"Edit" I went full p.c. on your sugestion

It is hard to quantify the complete difference in the rebuild tim did, to that inferior job dgs put on it!!!

Thanks to those who chimed in on mac1
