Multi-pump pneumatic question

I seen a couple of video's and hear from several people that when storing a Multi-pump pneumatic gun, you should pump it once or twice before putting it away.

What's the reason for this and is it necessary?

I believe that the manufacturers recommend that at least a single pump is used to keep the mechanism (seal/seat) in place so that it doesn't dry out.
Can't verify since I don't have a booklet, but you may be able to go to your particular air guns website and review that?

I contacted Crossman directly (through their website) and surprisingly they answered me rather quickly!

According to them - it's not something you have to do however, if the gun is going to be stored (and not used) for a long time - then yes; pump it once or twice to maintain the seals.
