FX Impact: The Wait and Anticipation

I pulled the trigger and ordered a black FX Impact in 22cal from http://www.straightshooters.com/ on the 3rd. Free shipping! Spoke directly with Craig. The next shipment won't be in until the end of Feb. So far I am the very few that ordered the air rifle in 22. So when the shipments come in, I have a better chance of getting it sooner. I'm deciding whether I should get the .25 or the .30 upgrade for this rifle.

Anyone ordered one or have one already? What is your experience with it?

If you get the .30 I can show you how to cast .30 bullets I have A BUNCH of .30 cal molds you can test out for accuracy, maybe you can produce your own ammo.

I am curious to see how .30 air guns do with cast bullets.

Sounds good Jeff. I spoke with Craig again and he's going to be able to have a shipment of different calibers sometime the end of the month or early March. We can set something up to meet and I'll start cranking those .30's out and try them out.

        FX IMPACT

I have had my .25 Impact for about 2 months now and love it.
        Very accurate and powerful .
I sold my FX Verminator in .22 so I may just get the .22 barrel for the Impact.
        Great rifle.
        Thanks
        John

Great Greek! Glad you like yours. Maybe you can answer this question.

When you shoot with the shroud retracted and then shoot with the shroud extended, does it change the POI? Can you test that out for me? Thanks.

If have time tomorrow I will check! I hope it doesn't affect POI.
            Thanks John

I'll tell you this, my POI shifts from 2-5 inches when I take my LDC off of my p-rod.

Shot my Impact today at 50 yards.

The POI did not change much, but the group opened up with the shroud retacted.
First pic is target with the shroud extended, five shots at max power 33.95gr JSB's.
Second target same with shroud retracted.
I will most likely only shoot with shroud extended anyway.
                Thanks John

I ended up cancelling my order last week with the same company and bought:

                        Cricket .22 Magazine $30.00 2 =$60.00
                        Hawke Sidewinder Tac 30 6.5-20x42 $479.99 1 =$479.99
                        Pellet Sampler .22 - Round $35.00 1 =$35.00
                        Cricket Bullpup .22 Wood Stock $1559.00 1 =$1559.00
                        Subtotal: $2133.99
                        Shipping cost: $0.00

                        Total: $2133.99

I will wait a year or two or when the next gen comes out so there isn't any problems when I buy a $1899 air rifle! My Cricket was shipped and within a week it was at my doorstep. Had the scope mounted the same day and shot a couple rounds each different pellets in different grains. It's easy for me because at 45yards, the groups were all the same.

Here's how my process. I fill the air to 250 bars and shoot 5 shots for each pellets. I repeated the steps for each pellets. They were grouping around .25-.50. Even the cheap Crosman Premier that you can buy at Walmart were doing excellent groupings. Luckily my P-rod loves the Premiers because I already have 15-20 tins of 500 rounds already.

I think I'll use the heavier grain pellets in my Cricket. I seem to like the JSB Exact 15.9gr more. Even the 12.65 H&N Baracuda Green were very quiet. You only hear the mechanisms when you shoot. Very Very quiet.

You will love the cricket, I have the .25cal and she is a tack driver! I'm still deciding if I keep my order or cancel, I know there are a few issues With the gun but I think this new shipment will bring the impacts with most of the problems resolved, I hope so, to me leaks are fine, of course not on a new gun but eventually will happen, o-rings wear out on every gun, what I'm not ok with is they messed up the picattiny rail, also the fill port has very poor design, I hope they change or add an option for a different Ldc, I'm not a big fun of the telescopic shroud.
