I have the 87 QE in .25 and really enjoy it. You get a lot of gun for the price. Quality is very high better than most.22lr guns. Very accurate.

Have the gas piston version in .22 and am very pleased with it. Very accurate at 25 yards and is quiet enough to use in a residential back yard. Does the job on squirrels that try to raid tomatoes. Little on the heavy side. It's nice that the stock is actual walnut instead of stained beech, birch, or plastic. It'll be a spring or gas piston so make sure to artillery shoot it for best accuracy. Also find a pellet that fires accurately out of the gun. For my .22 the Vortex Supreme and the H&N Field Target Trophy both in 14.66 grains shoot well. Can't speak on .177 but if you get one there are guys that do reviews on youtube and such that have done tests with different pellets, try their recommendations. Also the VS and H&N FTT would probably be good pellets to try in .177 is my guess. Trigger is nice and adjustable. The irons on the gun is ehh IMO. It's nice and easy to see but the fiber optic up front is too large to be real precise at anything over 15 yards. Scope and rings that come with it are decent at best. They're Chinese, and they didn't even bother to have somebody that knows English write out the directions for the scope, kind of funny looking at them. These cheap scopes will pretty much be the same no matter what gun you get. I upgraded to a UTG. Might be some promo codes out there that still work if you buy from pyramid or airgundepot. I used one from sootch at the time I got mine, might still work.

And if you think you might shoot more then paper ever get a .22 or .25 don't think there is any price difference either. Even only shooting paper I'd go .22 myself.
