For those of you concerned about scope failure due to recoil, I've used the older Thompson Contender RP (recoil proof) series for a long time. I've used them on .44 mag, etc with no problem. Can be had for modest $ on ebay, etc.
They handle the shaking motion of some air guns vbery well. Hope this helps.

I have found buying used scopes to be hit and miss... I am very happy with my bushnell elite that I bought used. I have other scopes I bought used like an old redfield that just don't seem to hold zero.

Unless the price is just insane (garage sale, flea market deal etc) I really don't like buying used scopes all that much anymore, and really like the bushnell elite scopes for springer recoil.

I just got a very used Beeman model 66 scope for free and it doesn't seem to hold zero either. I like good lightweight scopes so for me future purchases would be the Weaver or Leupold rimfires both rated for spring powerplant airguns.

Luckily, the two recent air rifle purchases have pretty decent fiber optic sights. So, no scope needed.
