Just got my AZ & FL CCW using my CA CCW info

PIece of cake. I got my AZ and FL CCW's in the mail recently, and all I did was basically use my CA CCW data (plus fingerprints, az/fl apps etc) and mail it off with checks. Now I can carry in NV when I go to LV.

Anyhow, just saying it's a piece of cake, to anyone who may want to do it.

What was the time frame for the AZ permit? When did you apply?

It took I think about 3.5 weeks from the time I mailed the envelope to AZ to when I got the card in the mail. I had a little lead time on top of that as I had to make an appointment at my local PD to get fingerprinted, then the time it took to mail it to them (i sent USPS priority with trackign so 1-2 days it hink). I saw when they received it, they cashed my check like 3 days after and then it was about another 3 weeks I got the card in the mail. Totally easy.

Thanks, good to know. I applied for my AZ permit around March 23rd. Hopefully I hear back soon. You’re right, very easy process.

AZ is funny. I had to email them twice. The first time I emailed was to check my status and they had me go through one more hoop, which wasn't a big deal. A month later nothing, so email again and asked where I was. A matter of hours later they said it's been approved and they put it in the mail today LOL it's like they need a reminder.

I wound up calling this morning. The person said they will have the file review team look at it and send something out Monday or Tuesday.

Arizona and Florida is super easy to get ...you have to find a police station that does wet ink rolling finger prints....once you get that you're good to go ..I also got Utah too..just to have it....that's easy to get too.

this is great to hear. I just applied for an AZ non-resident while doing my Renewal course with Dobbs here in NorCal (Solano County) and the instructor was telling us people has been waiting over a year for theirs.

Did you have to personally reach out to AZ to follow up with the status of your application? I?ve read on this thread that some people had to in order to get their permits sent out.

Me personally, from the time I mailed my packet off, I had the cert back in 14 days. No calls, no emails...

Sure seems like it's hit or miss on timing

                    Good luck

I sent off for mine a few weeks ago. If I understand correctly, it is not needed to concealed carry in Arizona and the point of having an AZ CWP is for reciprocity with other states? Hoping for some clarification.

Lol. This thread encouraged me to walk to the mailbox where my AZ permit was waiting for me. Two weeks to the day since I mailed off my application.

that?s why I applied for one. I take the family to Nevada quite often and even tho it?s open carry, i still want to be able to carry concealed legally

I've been reading a bunch of threads here and am just curious.

                            1. Why are people getting AZ and FL (and some NV) CCW? Is it to carry when traveling to those states and get the benefits of reciprocity? Like I travel to the Midwest once in a while to visit family and I could CC after leaving California through most of the states?

                            2. What is the cost other than the $60 for AZ? I have to pay to get my fingerprints done? Looks like no online fingerprinting, I need physical cards.

                            3. I need proof of training? How much does that typically cost? Would the CA CCW course count? OR do I need to take a seprate course for each state?

                            TIA!

FL is only good for FL. So if you have no plans of going there, AZ will suffice.

For AZ, you can roll your own prints but you would need to get cards. Some training providers can roll and give you cards for a small fee. FL requires you to have LE roll them. And fees for FL are more albeit it?s good for 7 years.

Your CCW training should suffice as proof of competency for both states. I know for AZ, a CA CCW will also work.
