Originally from CA, I have been residing in WA state since the beginning of the year. Got my WA CPL in 24 days after receiving my WADL.

Soonest appt for OR non resident CHL I could get was yesterday, in Washington County.
I made my appt online, submitted app via email. Was early for my appt and within 15 I was out the door with card in hand.

Yes, every county is different. Some choose not to do non resident CHL.
For my compelling statement, I said I periodically traveled to the Co for work, and have family in adjacent county.

For CA, Klammath seems to be the easiest to obtain. And initial CHL requires in person visit. Renewal is by mail.

      Lake County

I spend a fair amount of time in Oregon for recreation. Can anyone let me know if Lake County issues Non-resident CCW for Californians? I have a CA CCW. Searched through website and did not find anything.

      Thanks

bb557 Lake Co. issues non resident ccw to Californians. Call
Lake Co. S.O. and talk to Heather. Understand it is a small office and she is the only hamster on the wheel, so work with her and she will work with you.

Go to page one of this thread, and look at my post #6.

There you will find the links to the Lake County Sheriff's Office for general CHP info, and the link to the CHP application that you will need to fill out. Also ask Heather what additional paperwork you will need to present the Lake County Sheriff's Office located in the Lake County Courthouse to process your Oregon Concealed Handgun Permit - such as your completed CHP application, birth certificate, proof of firearms qualification, proof of address, etc...

As 682beretta posted, Heather is the only "Civil Deputy" at the LCSO in Lakeview, and you have to work within her office schedule - since Lake County is a walk in with no appointment needed agency.

                    OR CHL

On my way from CA back to ID, I stopped by the Grant County Sheriff's Office yesterday to change the address on my OR CHL. My OR CHL had been issued by the Klamath County Sheriff and still had a year to go but I wanted a closer county so I would not have to drive from Hayden to Klamath Falls to renew. I made the appointment the day before. The Civil Deputy ask for my DL and Oregon CHL, which I handed to her. She asked if I had any other concealed carry licenses or permits. I said yes and handed her my ID, WA and UT permits. She then asked if I was willing to pay the full $65 fee to simply renew for 4 years. I said yes. Their application form even suggest what is considered a compelling reason. After being finger printed (live scan) and photographed, I left with a new OR CHL that expires on 9/08/2025. It's plastic and has my photo. Total time 40 minutes. Can't beat that for service.

                        Resurrection time...

Anyone hear of any rumors of when an OR sheriff might be in SoCal for the OR certification?
