I am heading to Las Vegas next week for the SHOT show. Any issues with CCW in Vegas? Casinos? Hotels? I will not be carrying in the show itself.

Thanks for the heads up.. I will adjust my EDC knife for the trip accordingly. It is unlawful, within the unincorporated area of Clark County, for any person to carry upon his person a concealed weapon, not permitted in accordance with state law, of any description, including a knife with a blade of three inches or more, capable of being concealed, without first having received written permission therefor from the sheriff.

Under NV laws...
The posted "no weapons" signs only have legal weight when posted at Gov owned/operated property, school/college property, and child care facilities.
Be aware that some NV convention spaces are actually owned/operated by NV Gov agencies. So, posted signs at those convention spaces have legal weight.
The posted "no weapons" signs on private property (hotels, casinos, malls, etc) have not legal weight are are only considered a notice of that property's policy.
Violating their policy does not violate any NV laws, but can result in being asked by the property owner/representative to leave the property.
Failure to leave the property when asked, can result in an arrest for trespassing and/or public nuisance (both of which are violations of NV laws).
The hotel room is considered your temporary residence as long as you abide by the hotel's terms of service.
If their terms of service forbids the possession of weapons and you violate it, then it is a breach of contract and the hotel room is no longer considered your temporary residence.
NV conceal carry laws prohibits conceal carry of a handgun without a valid permit anywhere in NV. This includes being on private property and being inside your own residence.sigpic

In order to clean up NV "knife" laws, NV repealed some of their laws concerning the carrying of knives.
Repeal went into effect on 01-01-2015.
Before 2015; it was illegal to conceal carry any knife or machette.
After 2014; it is illegal to conceal carry a machette.
Before 2015; it was illegal to import, make, transfer, or possess a "switchblade knife" in NV.
After 2014; it is legal to import, make, transfer, or possess a "switchblade knife" in NV.
However, AFAIK, these cahnges did not effect NV county ordinances prohibiting the carrying of knives.sigpic

Best I can figure with some of those knife law states, you might as well just carry a gun because unless you have a CCW they don't really differentiate.
As far as Vegas goes, I've carried there in several casinos before and after the shooting. No issues whatsoever. I probably wouldn't open carry there, but as far as I know that's legal too. There were several people open carrying on Fremont St. last time I was there.Buy made in USA whenever possible.Comment

The original question has been answered, just follow NV laws and you'll be fine.Be ready to leave anywhere if they find you carrying because,
most casinos will ask you to leave.
Huh? With a CA LTC, you can currently legally carry in 25 states so, why don't you think it's much good outside of CA?NRA Certified Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun and Metallic Cartridge Reloading Instructor

Just spent the weekend in Vegas. No issues, except that the
Coyote Ugly bar did use a metal detecting wand. Other than that, no issues. Casinos, Shows, restaurants, etc. All no issues.Comment
