I read Arizona allows permitless carry for Arizona residents. Is it exclusive to Arizona residents? Does someone from out of state still need a permit to conceal carry?

Arizona permitless carry

It is not restricted to residents of AZ.
Any non-prohibited person can legally carry in AZ.
However...
People with carry permits have less restrictions on where they can legally carry than people without carry permits.sigpic

Concealed carry is different from open carry. You can open carry in Az without a permit but I'm pretty sure you need a permit to cc. But anyone can get a cc permit in AZ (as long as you're not disqualified), resident or not.
At least that's what I remember from living there years ago.Comment

Arizona is a constitutional carry state.
Any U.S. Citizen over the age of 21 can carry a concealed firearm.
Without a permit, you cannot carry inside any establishment that serves alcohol. That means no Olive Garden or T.G.I.Friday's or any other place that may just serve beer or wine with dinner.
Federal GFSZ law also applies, but you have to weigh your chances of being stopped by a Federal Officer while carrying in a school zone in Arizona. They are somewhere between slim and none.sigpic

Jmaglipay and Decoligny are both correct and applies to both open and concealed carry.
As for the Federal GFSZ law, with a CCW the prohibition only applies to the actual school property. Without a CCW the Fed limits apply, but are not generally enforced by local LEOs other than as an add-on to other charges.Comment

Also, with an AZ carry permit, you can carry in 34 other states as well.Comment

I'm in AZ right now, and being able to drive/walk around LCC is a pretty cool/surreal feeling (especially after being institutionalized from stupid CA law).
The first time I did it gave me the same feeling as when I first went out on patrol in Afghanistan; hyper-aware and concious. I love it.Retired AccountComment

Arizona is the most gun friendly state in the country IMO and you shouldn't have any problems. Curiously, the only one's who noticed and cared when I LOC in Arizona are the tourists who are from California. The locals (Including LEO'S!) could care less as long as you aren't a D bag. I've gotten the "Nice Gun" comment from everyone from LEO's to teller in Chase Bank (Yes, I LOC'D in a bank!I'm in AZ right now, and being able to drive/walk around LCC is a pretty cool/surreal feeling (especially after being institutionalized from stupid CA law).

) when I went in to get out money. No one cares and this is as it should be for law abiding citizens!

Does this apply only with an AZ CCW or is my CA CCW that is recognized by AZ good also? I'm trying to decide on a AZ non-resident CCW.Arizona is a constitutional carry state.

ANY CCW will allow you to carry in a place that serves alcohol. You just cannot consume alcohol while carrying. Thew simple answer to your question is yes."Life Is Hard. It's Harder When You're Stupid"-John Wayne!
