Given his venue, if he just stayed put, answered questions, he would likely have been fine. The $1,000 bail number if accurate shows that prosecutor wasn't very worried about him.

Wouldn't bet he has insurance either.

As one instructor put it. You have the right to bear arms, you have the obligation to use your brain, and to train.

My guess is that both using the brain and training were overlooked.

it sucks that this happened good thing it wasn't here or we would be so screwed beyond belief.

one thing is that I don't pocket carry and I never considered it an option. I prefer a holster. everyone is different in their method of carry.

I pocket carry, but in its own holster, safety is covered by the holster. Nothing else in the pocket except for the gun and holster.

I'll bet the discharge wasn't due to hitting the floor.

My money is on he tried to catch a falling gun and finger ended up inside the trigger guard. Oops.

It says .40 Springfield and the only guns I know that they make in .40 are the EMP (which has a manual safety) and the XD which has a grip safety. Kinda gotta wonder how the hell it went off, even fumbling for it.
