Center of Mass In-Car Gun Locker

I need a safe for the car and read some good reviews about this one. Does anyone have experience with it?

Are there any others you have experience with and would recommend?
    Thanks.

I have 4, I think. They are good for what they are intended to do.

They keep you legal. They don't make things theft proof. I went with the combo units. I don't like needing keys.

Note: Take out the foam and run it through the wash several times. It stinks.

One in each car lanyarded in place. One for occasional transport (like buying a gun in a cardboard box and getting it home). One spare.

I have a CoM safe for my car - I'm happy with it. I got it for two reasons:
      1. It satisfies the legal requirement for locking it while I'm away.
      2. It'll prevent the opportunistic thief from walking away with my pistol. The cable is strong enough to withstand a set of dikes, I think, and the box is fairly stout. Anybody with some time and a few tools will get into it, though.

Oh, and it was only $42 delivered so make it 3 reasons.
      (That included an extra cable)

So it's legal to put the gun together with a loaded mag inside this box?

It must be locked unloaded. Unloaded is not chambered or in magazine well. Keep in mind if you are in the process of committing a felony it is loaded if ammo is within reach.

Where do you suggest keeping the magazine if having it close by (but not in the lockbox), means that you're in the process of committing a felony?

He's saying that IF you are committing a felony, ammo within reach is as bad as ammo in the gun. So, don't commit a felony. Otherwise, it's entirely legal to store loaded mags with UNloaded guns in the same locked container.

I think you can get them at WalMart. I got mine through Corporate Travel and Safety

I got the one with the three number combo lock. Didn't want another key to lose or fumble with.
