          Depending on how much you'll be carrying, I used a 5.11 MOAB 6 during my three week trip in Israel in November. I attached it to my Rush 24 on the longer hikes and for my carry on for the flights to and from. I was really impressed with both packs as I had to replace my old pack just before the trip (my old backpack tore while I was packing). I had lots of room to spare on our day hikes. Anyway, it's an option if you don't mind the sling type of bags.

          The conceal pouch on the MOAB 6 is good for Commander-sized pistol, or smaller. http://www.511tactical.com/rush-moab-6.html
