Belly Bands & Big Boys for beltless carry

Saw this: https://www.pewpewtactical.com/best-...band-holsters/ They present some interesting insights.

I've always dismissed these gun girdles without actually learning anything about them however, I am now working in light sweatpants & joggers frequently and carrying without a belt is a P.I.T.A. so I'm asking. Can a guy with a 40" waist who wants to carry a full size Glock on his strong side (not appendix) use these without sweating like a pig and hating it?

Would appreciate firsthand input and selection advice. Would be wearing it for 6hrs min.

Human beings only have two ways to deal with one another: reason and force. Force has no place as a valid method of social interaction, and the only thing that removes force from the menu is the personal firearm, as paradoxical as it may sound to some.

The U.S. city with the most restrictive gun laws in the nation, Washington, D.C., has the highest murder rate at 24 per 100,000.
The state with the most unrestrictive gun regulations, Vermont, has the lowest murder rate at 0.48 per 100,000.

I can't answer your question, but I know I would never carry a Glock in a soft sided "holster" band. Anything you can't "turn the trigger off" with a safety needs a fitted, hardshell holster portion.

If the original post was unclear...I am seeking first-person input from those who have actually used these types of holsters. The designs appear to have come a long way (read linked comparison), thus eliminating the concerns of non-users like G-force. All of the options shown incorporate either leather or kydex shells to secure the weapon.

I used the original Smart Carry holster for a Glock 26 and a Kahr MK9 for the better part of 6 years. Before I did however, I tested to see if I could get the gun to go off (unloaded of course) and no matter where I pressed or tugged with my fingers, I could not get the trigger to go off while in the holster.

I have no other first hand knowledge except the original SmartCarry and if you want to carry that way, I'd suggest buying one and testing it before actual use.

FYI, I don't currently carry but when I do I would use a "belly band".

I did, and the very first holster, Galico, #1 on the list, is nothing but elastic band with pockets sewn in. Whats your point?

No point, other than I am not considering any bands that don't provide a secure holder for the firearm...you must have missed the part about Galco that reads: "The leather holster pockets come in different sizes, so ensure you have the right size pocket for your gun. They range from pocket pistols to the mighty CZ P-09.

Outside the leather holster pockets are two extra pockets for accessories."

Is the Smart Carry strictly an appendix holster or can ya spin it around for strong side? I am seeking a comfortable holster I can use when riding a motorcycle as well.

I didn't miss a thing, but I think you have. Did you actually look at the pictures? I'll help you out:
This holster quite possibly packs more options than any other holster on the market today! Galco?s update of the traditional bellyband allows concealed carry of multiple weapons and accessories around your midsection.

The leather part is a flat leather pad between you and your skin for comfort. The outside, the part covering the trigger, is nothing but stretchy material. I can so easily see a seat belt or chair arm corner or something making contact with a trigger.

I can see you're the type of person who needs to get the last word in.
I do not. I never said i was committed to the Galco, I asked for input from people who have used the types shown in the link. You have not and your initial post started with the words: "I can't answer your question..." making your participation here worthless to me. I do not care to argue with someone that cannot provide first-person experience (as stated in the OP). I'm ignoring you now and awaiting response from those who have worn belly bands. Particularly those with Kydex holsters. You needn't respond anymore but probably cannot stop yourself.

crossbreed has a Kydex system. The holster can go with a bunch of options. The belly band 1.0 very forgiving. Get the bigger size if you are close to it.
I'm a big guy. It fits comfortable all day.

Jumping in a little late here, but I tried the belly band approach a couple decades ago, an elastic Nylon version. I found it trapped heat very effectively, so much so I couldn’t wear it. If you are naturally cold, it might just be the thing for you.

im a bigger person and in the process of getting my ccw. I just started looking around for an iwb. for us bigger boys with bellys, is the band the way to go?? I know its super embarrassing and doubt that i could have my pistol in front cause of my belly.

do some of yall have any recommendations or should i just go with something leather?

Does that holster have a strap across the back of the gun?
