    BlackPoint Tactical DualPoint

As a very recent CCW holder, I just went through the typical holster search to find out what works for me. I don't want to sound like an advertisement, but I was so happy with the DualPoint holster from BlackPoint that I wanted to share. I had not seen much about the company during my searches, I only found out about them when I was looking at the P365 holster sold by Sig on their website. I did not like how thick that holster was with the extra layer of kydex, but it got me to look at BlackPoint and ultimately lead me to the DualPoint holster. The DualPoint has some pretty innovative features that I really wish were more standard across the industry.

The holster is made for AIWB carry. But, the clip mounts in slots that allow for a lot of height and cant adjustments so it can easily slide to 3oclock IWB. The "claw" to push the grip closer to the body is actually a belt loop. There are mounting holes on the left side to add a second loop and convert it to OWB. The second mount holes on the left are also where you can attach the spare magazine pouch for AIWB. The magazine pouch attaches using a piece of leather that allows it to flex like a hinged holster, but also gives it a slight amount of flex in the twisting direction. The slight twist keeps the magazine from digging into my fat gut, but still holds solid enough that drawing or reindexing the mag is easy. The mounting for the magazine pouch adds a minimum amount of bulk to the left side of the holster and is barely noticeable as the pants/belt naturally have a little gap at that spot that it just kind of fills in.
I love that it's easily convertible between carry types. I shoot IDPA at Prado and they do not allow AIWB carry. I like the idea that I can keep my same equipment and just slide it to 3oclock if I need to.

One downside to the belt loop as "claw" design is that it does not stick out very far to the side. Having a shorter lever means the grip doesn't get pushed quite as hard/tight towards the body compared to some other claw designs when used without a belt. It's not really a huge deal with a good belt. (I would
With the P365XL and a stiff belt, it all but disappears. Without a belt, the pants alone aren't quite enough to keep it from printing ever so slightly in a regular t-shirt. The corner of the P320 AXG prints just slightly with a belt and just a little bit more without a belt. I'm sure nobody will notice the 320 printing unless they know to look specifically for it. And yes, I liked the holster design enough that I got one for both the 365 and the 320!

The other downside is the cost, as they are a little more expensive than other holsters I tried. They charge extra for the DCC monoblock clip, which really should be standard on all AIWB holsters because it holds so securely and is so easy to quickly don and doff by lifting the clip up away from the belt. That said, the thought and design that went into the holster is well worth the added cost for the comfort and features it provides.

I love when things are modular/adaptable/customizable so the big selling point for me was getting 3 carry styles in one holster. But the comfort is where the adjustable height/cant really shines. Other holsters that I had tried really required adding foam padding or wedges to make them usable. This holster fit me so well out of the box that I haven't even bothered with it yet. I'm sure it will be even more comfortable once I finally do.

Overall, I'm super happy with the DualPoint holsters. (They also have a 2.0 version that looks like they just deleted the ability to convert carry position.) I wish I would have found out about them sooner.

Even though I'm super happy with them as my initial impressions, I'll try to update this in a few months to see how they hold up.

Thanks for the holster company/product reference.

I had previously heard of them as that's what James Reece uses in the terminal list series of books.

I have 6 holsters from them - best fitting/lowest profile in my experience.
