Gun Safe for tesla model 3

I read some great arguments about getting a safe with a key to unlock it. However I don't carry any keys when taking the tesla since it does not have a a key. I'll be sure to get a keyed one for my truck.

What kind of safe would work best? Something that I can stash under the seat I suppose (there isn't a ton of room).

I'm thinking non keyed or something with key and other options; biometrics, code etc.

Did some research, and I guess the seats are too low to the ground to fit most safes.

    I did find this: https://www.consolevault.com/assets/...VIS-1126_B.pdf

However then I need to remove my hidden Hard drive for senty mode (records the person breaking into your car, or that hits you while parked. It is also used for the dash cam. I guess the drive could be tapped to the top of the safe, but then whoever breaks in will certainly steal that. Currently it resides in a hidden compartment like this:

TAPTES®,# 1 Accessories for Tesla Store, 1000+ Accessories for Tesla Model S 3 X Y, New Arrivals for Tesla Added Weekly. Free Shipping on Orders Over $69. Best Accessories for Tesla Interior & Exterior, Tesla Model S, Model 3, Model X & Model Y Seat Covers, Wireless Charger, Floor Mats, USB Hub & Roof Rack, etc.

So now I trade one security for another. Or maybe I could drill a hole in the top of the safe and put the usb-c cable through the hole and put the dard drive in the safe?

I hope your kidding, CA law specifially prohibits you from using the glovebox to store your gun. As for frunk / trunk, you would typically be carrying your firearm, but should you need to lock it away, I don't want someone seeing me store my gun in the trunk / frunk right before I leave my vehicle. Which is why I am looking for another solution if possible.

Can you fit a Lifepod under your seat? Those are pretty small and do not require keys.

I don't think so, at this point i'm looking for any options. I don't think there is enough room under any of the seats.

I'm thinking the center console safe is the way to go, and maybe drill a hole through it for a USBC cable so I can put the soild state drive into the safe.

Either that or put the safe in the trunk tied to the trunk latch, and be sneaky about getting the gun into it in public.

OP, good question/thread. Calif. PC 25140 does make things difficult to secure a firearm/handgun within a vehicle/car.

It seems California law doesn't require the locked container to be physically secured to the vehicle, but merely be placed out-of-plain-view.

                Quote from Penal Code:
"(a) Except as otherwise provided in subdivision (b), a person shall, when leaving a handgun in an unattended vehicle, lock the handgun in the vehicle’s trunk, lock the handgun in a locked container and place the container out of plain view, lock the handgun in a locked container that is permanently affixed to the vehicle’s interior and not in plain view, or lock the handgun in a locked toolbox or utility box."

I'm sorry I have zero Tesla experience (I don't think I've even touched the outside of a Tesla and definitely haven't looked around inside of a Tesla to figure out how the seats are mounted or how a center console operates. I knew nothing of the hard-drive/electronics within its center console.
