    Pocket Carry

I just got my CCW, started the process in February of this year. My granted permit had nothing to do with the NY decision allowing self defense. SD was already allowed in my county.

I have a S&W 642 airweight which is a tiny J frame revolver. Factory stock.

I can easily fit it in a pants or shorts pocket but it prints and if it falls down far enough I can't get a fast grip on it, it winds up bbl/cylinder side up, grip down.

I'm looking for recommendations for a pocket holster. I see a bunch of cheap sh*t on AMZ but don't trust Chinese crap. Looking for something that is anchored to the pocket or something so sticky you can draw from the pocket while the holster stays put.

Is that too much to ask for? What you guys got?

I have 2 pocket holsters for my Model 36. I have a Galco Front Pocket Holster, think I ordered it a few years ago at Midway, and a Bianchi model 152, can't remember where I picked it up at. About the only thing they do is keep it in a position where you can draw it, and it won't flop around if you need to pick up the pace and run. I use my index finger to keep the holster in place while I draw as you need somewhat loose pants, so there is nothing to really hold the holster in place.

I've tried several for my 642 and the hands down winner is the Galico PH158. The key is the fact that they leather is not just wrapped around to top of the gun, it has about 1/2" of leather there, with a sewn in stiffener, that hooks the holster on inside corner of your pants on the draw. Try Amazon, I got a "open package" but otherwise perfect holster for half the cost.

Sticky holster and a desantis holster...can't go wrong.

I bought the Galico PH158 off AMZ for $63. We'll see how it works, I have a 30 day return Window. If I were certain I'd have saved the $8 and gone eBay.

I have a feeling with a new CCW I'm going to become well versed in holsters, I'm a little OCD. I have little experience with them except OWB on public land. I chose a Vedder comfort tuck for my other carry gun - HK P2000sk. My wife is up next to get her permit early 2023. I want to be able to help her.

              I appreciate all your responses!!

Dolphin, you're the second to recommend DeSantis. I'll order both and check out. I appreciate your response.

Yep, I have a Nemesis for my 442, my G26 and my Sig P238. Great little holsters, never had a problem. They have a version that squares out the pocket a little more so it doesn't look as much like a "holster".
