    Relentless Holster Too Tight

I received my Relentless Holster for a 1911 4". It is so tight (small) that the gun barely goes in. I have tried the plastic bag option but it really has no effect. The company says some users have had success with some treatments to stretch it out. But they neglect to say which treatments work. Any suggestions are welcome. I really would like to keep this holster but not if it a major hassle to do their work for them. I will try anything before returning it. TIA

I had the same problem with a holster from Privateer gun leather. Do the plastic bag thing again. Use one really thick bag or two if you can manage it (I use bags from other holster companies). I fold the bag under the muzzle/dust cover and shove it in. Leave it for two weeks. You can also heat the leather with a hairdryer to speed things along. The heat will cause the leather to expand and contract where needed.

I had a Milt Sparks Criterion that was too tight. I left the gun in it for a month in the safe (went on vacation). It was perfect when I returned.

Standard for a leather holster. Put the gun in a thick bag or a thin dress sock. Jam it in the holster. Let it sit 2 weeks.

Use a thick freezer bag and spray the leather heavily with automotive silicone spray. Should be good to go in a week.

Keep adding bags until you get to the desired point. But be careful as there is no going back and it's a small margin of error.

Also, at the point that you think you're getting close but it's still a bit tight, I'd stop with the bags and do a hundred presentations or so and see what that does.

This is the reason I prefer kydex. I don't have to patience to break-in leather.

How long did you do the plastic bag trick? I find for some holsters you'll need to leave it in for a whole week before you get a good useable fit.

For Glocks we expanded mag wells a bit

2 layers of masking tape on the magazine

Heat pistol with death ray aka heat gun

              Insert mag

              Let gun cool

Not sure if this would work well on the mag too
Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT
