Which Kore Essentials Belt should I buy? - also BF Sale

I have tried a number of CCW belts over the years, none have lived up to my expectations, but The Beltman was the only one good enough that I went back and purchased another one later.

Fat dudes have enough trouble keeping our pants up under the best of conditions, never mind the addition of a George Costanza sized wallet, an excessive keyring, a cellphone so big that is bordering on being a tablet, a flashlight, knife, multi-tool, IFAC and then add a three pound+ double stack 1911 and a half dozen spare mags.

Okay I exaggerated a bit, I am not currently carrying the multi-tool or IFAC, and I don't carry a double stack 1911, or a single stack 1911* for that matter; a full sized 45ACP Glock and a couple of spare 13 round mags weigh enough thank you. *(I will probably will add a 1911 to my permit at next renewal.)

Even my Beltman Belts are not perfect brand new, and worse yet wear out and become flaccid after a while.

I was planning on ordering a Kore Essentials this week, but gratefully I procrastinated since the Black Friday thread turned me on to the Black Friday sale they are having.

Should I order the 1.5 inch X-5 rated at 8 pounds or the 1.75 inch G1 rated at 10 pounds?

I like the buckle on the X-5 better, but I don't want to get less than I'll be happy with.

I just measured my Beltman and it is shy of 1.5 inches (1.35 or thereabouts) and also confirmed my beltloops will take 1.75 width belts.

Anyone have any experiences, thoughts or insights they can share?

Not trying to thread jack on your post but if you're willing to go with a little beefier belt take a look at the Aegis from Aresgear. They're super stiff. Because they're double thick I've had trouble with some leather holsters even though it's 1.5 inches wide.

I've worn one exclusively for 2 years now. I have had no problems with the weight of a 1911 commander IWB with 2 extras mags. It also handles a SA TRP full rail OWB with no problems. I can't even tell I'm carrying when I have my shield.

    I'm 6' 170lbs.

I have one of the Kore gun belts but in brown leather. Surprising held up well with DW CBoB and not thick like my Hanks. Saw that their BF ad offered 20% and might buy another but in the tactical belt.

        OP,

Get the 1.5" belt as it not only will easily support a full size duty weapon,

it will also fit most pants that you would likely wear when you carry...

Yes, I am wearing one now...

I have the leather and tactical. Leather is rated for around 4 lbs and tactical is 8. The tactical is Substantially stiffer than the leather. I like both.

Get the tactical with X7 buckle. The X7 is their appendix carry buckle and is small, so you get some extra versatility.

The X5, X6, and X7 look more like a gunbelt buckle. The X1, X2, X3, X4 and X8 are much less obvious and just as strong...

Depends on where you will be wearing the belt and how much you care...

              Concur on the Tactical.

Chances are your holster slots are 1.5" and not 1.75". Also, many pants have belt loops that are less than 1.75" wide.
