Lock box for a small car?

I was wondering if anyone can recommend a good set up for storing a CCW in my Mazda MX5 while I am at places like the post office. My main carry is a Glock G43x in an Alien Gear Cloak Tuck 3.5 holster.

Really not sure if it's possible inside the car. The seats are quite low, there's no glove compartment and no map pocket. There is a small compartment in between the seats and that's it.

Try something like this that can be affixed the the seat or body and out of sight:

AmazonBasics Portable Security Case Lock Box Safe, Combination Lock, Large https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077K3FJHC..._MDUtFbQ5TPS4Y

Keep in mind that there may be value going with a bigger box. It's nice to be able to simply pop your holster off and put the whole thing in a box instead of having to pull the gun out of the holster. YMMV.

You can get one of those boxes you loop the cable around the seat frame for about $20. You could also screw it to the floor if you wanted to.

Thanks guys. Perhaps I am overthinking it. Searching on Amazon, I think any one of those lower profile lock boxes with cable to loop around the seat frame would work. And definitely want one big enough to simply put the whole rig in there.

I use the nanovault. Both my G43 and XDS fit nicely in it.

Is it for security or just to meet the requirements?

If it's for security I would get one of these:

10 gauge, mount or cable lock, foolproof Simplex lock.

And put it in my trunk.

Use a plastic bag or something to transport your rig from interior of the car to the trunk.

After several intense Amazon search sessions, I finally found one that would fit both the gun and the holster and in relatively low profile. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B085DN4ZTB/

I'll be sticking it behind the passenger seat as there's absolutely no room to slide anything underneath the seats thicker than maybe a thin crust pizza!

Thank you for this great advice if I ever decide to carry the lock box to and fro the trunk.

always good to have one in the car...nano vault is a solid choice.

Have you considered something as simple as this? The zipper has an integral lock and I like it because you can carry it around with you if you don't have a permit to carry and it will probably fit under your seat.

It's not going to prevent someone from stealing your gun but I don't think any of the other options will either because the security cable/chain is too weak.
