    Question for K6S carriers

I haven't carried a wheel gun in over two decades for self defense and was wondering what some Kimber K6s carriers have for concealed carry, preferably IWB holsters? Just purchased one and 9 days away from picking it up.

One thing I remember with my 649 inside an old IWB Ted Blocker holster, is that the handle was so far out and it was very noticeable with the butt end of the handle/grip protruding under a shirt.

Any ideas will be much appreciated. Hopefully I can find one without having to buy 2 or 3 before I settle it into a new home on my person.

Can't help you on the holster, maybe grantar2 will chime in, but please post a review of the K6S. Like the looks of it.

OP there are several ways to carry the gun. Grip printing will be a decision of where you carry IWB/OWB, location around the body and degree of cant. If you cant the gun ~15 degrees for a gun worn just behind 3 O'clock the grip is hidden by running up the side of the torso.

Do you have holster material choices, do you want a holster you can wear a tucked in shirt with, etc. if you provide me information I can make a recommendation whether it's a product I carry, can get, or someone else product. The holster is the last 1.5 seconds in a fight for your life, it has to work, it's not a trivial equipment purchase despite so many people treating it as such.

Grantar2, I just noticed that you had responded and sorry for late reply. Fully understand how important it is to get the right holster and that's why I reached out to this forum. I didn't mention that I used that 649 in my left front pocket everyday at work as a backup gun, and trained that way with it for a long time. But haven't carried a revolver as a sole defense weapon in a couple of decades. Now that I am retired with a bad lower lumbar, I can no longer carry on the hip IWB, but have discovered IWB appendix carry does not bother my back at all. So I have no choice now. I purchased one holster that actually is comfortable IWB but is not sturdy where the gun enters the holster, so the draw is nice, the ride is comfortable without any print at all, but the re-holstering sucks! I bought another holster OWB that is really nice and if I wear a shirt that isn't too short I get away with it, with very minimal printing. That OWB holster is sturdy and cut perfect for re-holstering and definitely nicer on the draw, but just a small print. I would love to find a molded leather that does not collapse IWB and sturdy, and might have to look for Kydex IWB now. I am up for any suggestions and feel my only hope sturdy IWB is Kydex. Thanks for replying!

If what you have works cool. As for re holstering it's a challenge in practice, but in daily carry should be a minimal problem unless you have a frequent need to lock the weapon up.

I am curious as to the cause of the back injury. Well I believe that IWB carry at 3:30 is the most effective for the majority of people, 3:00 clock carry can be very dangerous and is for many LEOs because of irritation to the nerves running up the leg. Pressure there mostly shows in the low back and knee.

If you find you need something else give me a call. We can try several different things and as people here who have shopped and consulted with me will testify I am not afraid to send you elsewhere for a product that will work if it's better than one I can do for you. To me this is life and death, your safety and effectiveness come first, and I recognize what is great for one person is not right for another which is why I offer private consultations and trials by appointment.

            Stay safe, best wishes.
