Thoughts on the Clip Draw products on DA pistols

The Clip Draw products have been out for some time now and even get advertised in the USCCA magazine.

Anyone have any thoughts on this carry method for double action pistols like my Kahr PM9? I realize the trigger is not covered but I can't see this firearm going off on a small double action pistol with a rather heavy trigger pull.

Any thoughts would be appreciated. Other than keeping lint and sweat at bay, like my Cross Draw horsehide IWB does rather well and with relative comfort, an additional option like the Clip Draw would seem to be able to conceal it even better in some situations.

    Thanks in advance!

It's a poor and moderately uncomfortable carry depending on the weapon. Key issue are the directions tell you not to carry a round in the chamber which is appropriate with this type of carry system, but just a stupid way to carry a gun for self defense.

There are better, cheaper, and more effective ways to carry.

This is all you need to know to look elsewhere.

Looks like an accident waiting to happen, besides who wants their metal gun rubbing on them, even with a t shirt it would get annoying. I just got a sticky holster for my PPS M2 and G42 and love it. Super comfy, low profile, does not move, quick on and off and cheap.

        Thanks again Grantar.

Everyone that makes a kydex holster makes some kind of trigger guard now days.

Very comfortable with smaller guns. I have seen people run 1911's with Clipdraw.

I used one on my LCP. The fit was too tight and screw broke when I tried to remove it. I wasn't super happy with it anyway.

Hmmm...I wouldn't carry without a round in the chamber. That's just dumb. I'm somewhat puzzled that USCCA would include advertising in their magazine for this product if this is such a foolhardy option that one needs to carry one's weapon without one in the pipe. I wasn't aware that Clipdraw advised this. That is a big deal. Racking the slide to engage a threat is too time consuming and might just be impossible with the adrenaline flowing or if one has already been wounded to some extent.

Again easy to address the safety concerns of carrying with a loaded round. Several trigger block and trigger guard devices on the market that work well with Clipdraw.

I find Clipdraw major limitations are requirements for a small / light gun.

These are great for quick trips out and need to carry. Not ideal for all day.

You should buy one. Everyone needs a drawer full of carry ideas that didn't function as well as they thought they would.

I like a belly band for my LCP ($20) and I use a Desantis Slim Tuk ($25) for my Shield.
