Holster.. what do you do when you have an unpopular gun!

So one of my CCW gun is a S&W SD40VE (the other two is a G19 and J frame snub), I wanted a IWB hybrid holster.. unfortunately there is not of makers for this particular handgun. What I did is found the closest one possible which would fit the gun and then modify the holster. The one I found was the Galco King Tuk, it was the designed for the S&W M&P, When I received the holster, I noticed, though the gun slid and was retained in the holster, it caught on a few places: the top edge of the ejection port and the slide was tilted a little too high on in the front. What I did is with the unloaded gun inserted into the holster, I slowly heat the kydex in the areas I needed less friction on,, until it met my liking, then I concentrated on areas where I needed it to tighten. youtube videos helped the understanding fo rthe material.. Overall, now I have a great functional holster.. just an insight in case you guys cant find the holster to your gun. Also a good gunbelt is important.. Bigfoot Gun belt are awesome.. I bought the 14 oz steel core one and it's worth the $60 shipped ($10 off during the holiday sale until Dec 26)

    Bongos,
well I don't have a SD40VE in stock I can get one. May I suggest if you have a chance stop by our store in Mission Viejo and try a holster on in the same size.
Given that on average if your in a real fear for your life, you may have about 1-2 seconds to get the gun out, close isn't a good solution, but of course that is your choice.

It took me all of 30 seconds to find it, and most of that was opening a new tab and finding the bookmark.

Foxxholsters.com also makes one for the SD40VE.

Try alien gear. They have lost of obscure pistols.

I make my own (leather) holsters.
My Beretta isn't that popular and I couldn't find one already marketed that I liked.

                Buy a Glock?

A quick internet search shows more than a few correctly sized holsters are available for that pistol.

However, knowing how to adjust the fit of a kydex holster is good info as well.

Thanks guys, what I meant is, you have the option of modifying the Kydex to fit your particular firearm. What I failed to mentioned is I did look at Aliengear as well as fox, I just like the Galco better.

Once, I could not find a holster for my P7M8. I called the Blade Tech company for a holster, and they sent me one a month later.

Go see grant. Try a sticky or a cardini. The sticky is excellent for ccw as is the cardini. I've used the cardini to carry AND played tennis wearing it. And that was with a DE 50 (camoflouged as a Sig 938 ). Grant has all sorts of ideas and solutions. And while your there buy a next belt, they are without a doubt the most comfortable indestructible belt ever made by mankind.

I just got my Hidden Hybrid IWB/OWB for my Beretta PX4 Storm 9mm with the Crimson Trace CMR-201 laser mounted. It wasn't as cheap as the standard PX4 holsters, but the Kydex is molded (custom molded?) to provide a good fit for gun and laser. I couldn't find any other holsters for this particular combo.

While most LGS won't stock them many manufactures make holsters for you gun, you just need to order one and be patient. I agree with Grantar, while close is Ok for a trip to the range you really need the right holster for every day use.

We already have the only reasonable Gun Control we need, It's called the Second Amendment and it's the government it controls.

Trade it for a popular gun.
