I keep seeing a lot of brands popping up. One in particular is the Hyve brand. Just curious what people takes are on using them. For my shield 9.

Anyone use mag extensions on their Edc?

Mag extensions have been around since the beginning of time, and you're right -- recently, there have been a lot of companies joining PEARCE in providing mag extensions as the CCW market grows.
It's great to have a lot of innovative products for us to choose from. They HYVE extensions look great and well made, and I think I'll try it (need to research a bit more). For your Shield you do know you can add +1 without needing an extension with the MaGuts conversion, right?
For my Glock I do use a PEARCE extension for my spare mag only, not the Carry Pistol, to keep it compact. From what I have learned over the years, this is what a lot of CCWers prefer to do, too (larger Mag for the spare, smaller Mag for the Pistol).

The answer is I have a mag extension on the 7 rounder, The 8 rounder of which I have several is already extended. You didn't specify if you were trying to extend a 7 or 8 round mag?I keep seeing a lot of brands popping up. One in particular is the Hyve brand. Just curious what people takes are on using them. For my shield 9.

I am testing a variety extensions on my Glock 42 and 43.
Unlike the Shield, these two pistols are six rounders stock.
I have the Ghost, Pearce, Taran Tactical and Magguts in testing now.
Unless they are 100% reliable with your carry ammo, their size is irrelevant.
I found that the plus one's (and even some plus two's) are still easily concealable in most cases.
The G42 is so mild that it is perfectly shootable even with your pinky hanging underneath without any finger extension for those seeking minimum size and maximum concealability.
Taran also sent me a complete new mag with their extension installed for less than the two parts bought seperately.
Unfortunately, they are not currently offering options for the shield.
A lot of great options out there...Real Californian...Comment

No.
That is why I carry an extra magazine, for a pistol that has a grip that is already long enough, in a caliber that doesn't need a lot of hits to be effective.

Haha right???? I ordered a g17 ets translucent mag and slapped the taran tactical +6 on there....I haven't taken it to the range yet, so I'm not gonna carry it on my edc yet...but when I put a few hundred rounds thru it, it'll be my spare...for my g19 same thing ETS translucent 15round mag with a +4 TTI,. I should probably order some suspenders to help my SOE edc belt haha.Comment

Anyone make a 2" extender for a seecamp? That thing disappears in my mitts. I hold it with one finger, and the trigger guard cuts me durimg qualification shoots.

Some guns almost require an mag extension,
while mag extensions on many other guns just seem to be an embarrassing admission of inadequacy or worse...

Magguts for my Shield. Works great. Use it in my seven round to make 9 total with one in the chamber. You can also use it in the eight to make ten total, but the eight mag doesn't conceal as well.I keep seeing a lot of brands popping up. One in particular is the Hyve brand. Just curious what people takes are on using them. For my shield 9.
